You can program your mind to any task, or you can let each day flit by with a mind full of mumbo jumbo and other rubbish. At the end of each day sit in a quiet room on your own and think for a few moments, asking yourself these questions... 'What have I done
today to take my life forward?' It could be that you: - Had an awesome workout that improved in strength and intensity and really targeted those problem areas. - Ate clean and on time all day, drank all your water and took all your supplements on time. - Made some important business calls that will reap benefits down the line. I call this sewing seeds. - Have sown some good seeds today. - Have had a great day at work; have been on the ball, sorted out any problems and taken another step up the ladder, instead of just watching the clock from 9 'til 5. - Came home and prepared all your meals for the next day. - Wrote your diary out with foods and supplements taken and the things you achieved that day. - Saved another £50 for your dream holiday. (I could go on and on!) The following is an exercise that I did recently and I found it invaluable. I started on this article by Bill Phillips in an old magazine of his. I sat in a quiet room on my own with my goals and ideas book (which I have had for years - it is my bible). All the things I have achieved so far are in my ideas and goals book; my books, 'True Grit' and 'Short and Sharp' before, and my video 'My Gym' plus many, many other things. I suggest you get yourself a pad and write on the front 'Goals and Ideas'. |
Write this question on the top of a page... "1. If I were reading
this article a year from now, what ten specific things would have had
to have happened between now and then, for me to be happy with my progress
in life?" Ok, lets see how we did. If you found it easy to write out ten, then good it looks like you are on the ball already. Even so, we are going to make those goals even more concrete. If you did not get many, fine we can also improve. Now turn the page and write this question at the top... "2. What would I want to have and what would I want to accomplish within the next year, if nothing were out of my reach?" Ok, now you have 4 minutes on this one. Just scribble down words and phrases. Do it quickly, just go for it! Remember, assume nothing is out of your reach! You may write 300lb bench press, abs, learn to fly a plane, save £10,000 or so on. Write as fast as you can for 4 minutes.

Each day, before you start your day take five minutes to read your goals, in your 'Goals and Ideas' book. You must do it, ingrain them in your brain, see yourself achieving them. Each night before you go to sleep, read your book again. It only takes five minutes a day and you will be amazed at the results. I have been doing this for a couple of years now and have achieved more out of each day. I am normally goal conscious, but this simple exercise has made me step to a higher level, body and business wise. Each day I achieve what most people would take a month to do. Now the final exercise; I want you to write the following... "3. What do I want to achieve 3 months from now - and 3 years from now?" I want you to read these each day and night as well. This exercise I have laid out for you, does work. It is probably the most important article you will ever read. It has the power to make you get up and make your goals a reality. If you have read this and not done anything, I hope you find this article in a year's time. It may prompt you to think, "What have I done in the last year?" Umm, nothing! Then you will think. Get to Work! |
