NEWS & VIEWS (May '08)

Hi guys, hope you are all well.

The shows are nearly upon us- the NPA Yorkshire is first up.
At this show awesome show and other NPA and BNBF I will have clients competing, I am- so- looking forward to this year.
I have also been enlisted to help many others who live further afield. This really humbles me- that clients will travel for hours to meet me and absorb my experience.
Two who I have seen recently have awesome potential, what a battle that figure class will be this year.

When new clients visit my studio and I structure a programme and nutrition plan for them, in prep for an upcoming show. They are always shocked by these two factors

1. I advocate no CV
2. How fast I work them when they are training

These two areas are what seem to flabbergast them every time- “What no CV- not any? How do you get sharp and ripped then?”

Then I proceed to train them in a speed I deem appropriate for the client at that time- so it is not 100% work like clockwork bang, bang, bang- but still much faster than their normal speed.
This then answers their questions.

I cover the CV aspect and the speed I like to work at in a good amount of detail in my book, Blueprint for the Ultimate Figure.
I believe you should work hard and fast to hype the metabolism and train functional and athletically to develop an awesome figure to win on stage and look awesome off it.

All my clients work very hard and are elite athletes that can do anything you throw at them. They can do Chins for reps and Press Ups till the cows come home- one of my girls did 60 Pop Over Press Ups, 30 each side of a box. She looks strong, sharp and tight.
Another can leg press 7 plates a side for fast pumping reps of 20, after lunges and she weighs in at 8 stone. So these girls don’t ponce about with little weights.

The hard, fast work is not just for the girls. I train fast myself with the big basic movements- working as hard as I can.
The condition I attained for last year’s wins was brought on by the correct food and supplement structure.
Only coffee was used as a stimulant, I like a good, strong black coffee and have never used a fat burner- never used them and never will, neither have my clients. All they get is coffee here at bodyindesign, then hard work.
I clocked up no CV work either, but I did train fast and hard and heavy and I did my diet 100% down to the wire.
If the no CV thing is playing on your mind then give me a call, I will do my best to help you out- no matter how busy I am I will always return a call and email.

The site, as you will notice, is getting better every month. Gary and I have plans to have some of my clients write some monthly articles.
This in turn helps everybody out there and is giving depth to this sport that we love.

Debbie for instance may write about her background and how she became involved in figure competitions. This would help someone out there coming into this sport- help motivate and give them someone to model.
Jenny will be starting a business shortly where upon she will be helping others achieve their goals in competition. Gary and Jenny are working on her section of this site now. This site, within my site will be a subscriber only section, this will be a monthly e-zine for you girls out there, so keep your eyes open for that.

Each client I have has something to give to this sport- has had to fight for their success even if they don’t compete and this information is invaluable to you guys out there.
You see many people out there in the forum land think we are clicky- in fact we help everyone who needs us- we are always polite and sporting with everyone. If someone new comes into our fold we embrace them, for we at bodyindesign are for the good of the sport. We are just positive, hard working people who respect anybody who will stand toe to toe with us on stage.

Hey, keep on working hard and see you at the shows. Look after yourself and those you love.
Love Ian
